LAKE WALES - Denzel H. Crews, age 94, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013 in Lake Wales, Florida, from natural causes.
Mr. Crews was born in Bereah, Florida on August 28, 1918 to Harry Lester and Nora (Lanier) Crews. He was a Rancher and Farmer, served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II; he was a member of Athens Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Bereah, Florida.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law Deborah Crews of Bereah, Florida; brother Howe Crews of Avon Park, Florida; grandchildren Denny Crews of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Nathan Crews (Tina) of Bereah, Florida; great grandchildren Emily, Garrett and Gracie. Mr. Crews was preceded in death by his wife Dovie Crews, daughter Frances M. Crews and son D. Horace Crews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Athens Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Howard officiating.
