AUBURNDALE, FL - Emory R. Simmons, 79, passed away Nov. 13, 2013 due to heart complications. Born March 23, 1934 in Thomasville, GA.
Emory was preceded in death by his wife Ruby N. Simmons and grandson Jeremy Woodard Fountain.
He is survived by his son Stephen and wife Faye Simmons, Moss Point, MS; Philip Simmons of Auburndale 1 daughter Sarah Fountain & Cliff Fountain of Lakeland, FL; Joel and Heather Simmons of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren Stephen Simmons, Felicia Fox, Tim Fountain, and Noel Simmons.
Mr. Emory Simmons was a missionary to the Philippines & Haiti. He built many churches as well as pastored. He was a builder and developer all of his life and the owner of Emory's Grading & Paving. Emory was known as a perfectionist through his hardwork.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held Sat. Nov. 16th at 2 00 p.m. The Simmons family will receive friends at 1 00 p.m. until 2 00 p.m. Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel.
Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
