HIGHLAND CITY - Ermie Newmans, 81, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, as a result of heart failure.
Mrs. Newmans was born October 16, 1931 in Coffee County, GA. She and her family moved to Highland City in 1948. Mrs. Newmans was employed as a sectionizer in the Polk County citrus industry for many years. She was a devoted Christan.
Mrs. Newmans was preceded in death by her beloved husband, of 54 years, Richard Newmans, Sr. She is survived by her son, Richard Newmans, Jr.; daughters, LaVerne Evans and her husband, Pete, Jean Kirkland and her husband, Stanley and Jan Jones and her husband, Don; sisters, Dorothy Harpham and her husband, Ken and Doris Davis; brother, Dalton Chaney; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter.
Mrs. Newmans' family will receive friends Monday, June 17, 2013 from 5-7 pm at Lakeland Funeral Home at 2125 South Bartow Highway in Lakeland. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 10 am at Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland with Pastor Wayne Poole officiating. Condolences may be made to the Newmans' family at
