POLK CITY - Dr. Fred C. Leiser Jr., 84, of Polk City, Florida passed away from respiratory failure on July 23 surrounded by his loving family.
Formerly of Chester Heights, Pa., Doc Fred was a pillar of every community he ever resided in, most recently Mount Olive Shores in Polk City and previously The Great Outdoors in Titusville. Fred retired from a maxillofacial surgery practice in 1987 and headed south to enjoy the fruits of his labor. He and his wife traveled the world including annual retreats to the big island of Hawaii. In addition to his medical career, Fred was a retired Captain in the US Navy Reserve, the former Mayor and Chief of Police of Chester Heights, a pilot, avid boater and board member of several hospitals including the Shriners Hospital for Children Doc was heavily involved in many civic and fraternal organizations including being Past Potentate of LuLu Shriners, Past Directior of Royal Order of Jesters Court 72, Sobib, Sojourners and many others.
Fred was married to Peggy Church for 59 wonderful years. They were inseparable.
He is predeceased by his oldest daughter Debby and survived by his sisters Jane and Barbara, his daughter Wendy, sons Chris and Scott, daughter Peggy and grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
