LAKE WALES - George H. Cashman, 74, of Lake Wales, FL and Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away suddenly due to a massive cerebral hemorrhage.
He was born February 20, 1939 at home in New Chester, PA. He was the son of the late Arthur Guy and Mabel I. (Zepp) Cashman.
George was mainly self-employed in various businesses, including the owner and operator of a block truck, contractor of many homes, and builder and owner of CAGE Storage. After he sold the storage business, he retired and moved to Florida. He enjoyed traveling and golfing with his wife.
George is survived by his wife Letty; his step-son Michael A. Walp of Camp Hill; one sister, Shirley A.M. Speelman and her husband Carson of York Springs; his younger brother, John R. and his wife Judy of Mechanicsburg; and his sister-in-law, Janet Cashman of Dillsburg. George also was the proud and gracious uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an older brother Gene.
Services will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at 11:00 am in the Heidlersburg United Brethren in Christ Church, 2736 Heidlersburg Road, Gettysburg with the Rev. Craig Loewen officiating. Burial will follow in the Pines Church Cemetery, New Chester. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 7-9 pm in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg.
