LAKELAND - Glen L. Bansbach died June 20, 2014 at age 86 of Parkinson's disease. He was born April 10, 1928 in Norwalk, Ohio to Louis and Cecile Bansbach. They moved to Bryan, Ohio and he attended Bryan Schools where he graduated high school in 1946. Glen joined the Army after high school where he spent 3 years in the Signal Corps. He traveled Europe as a technician supporting military chaplains before leaving the army. Glen was called again during the Korean War
and received an Honorable discharge in June of 1952. He received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering and worked for several companies before retiring to Lakeland, FL in 1993. He was active in the Milan, TN VFW
serving as the commander of the post and the district.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bob Mitchel, Fred and Wally Bansbach.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn of 63 years, sons David (Brenda) and Ed (Cindy Orem) of Atlanta, GA, grandsons, Chris (Cassie McKane) of New Orleans, LA and Craig (Megan) of Atlanta, GA, one granddaughter Dr. Carol Robbins (Matt) of Birmingham, AL, and one great-grandson, one brother Herb (Velma) of Defiance, Ohio.
