LAKELAND - James "Mac" W. McElreath, age 88, passed away October 9, 2012 at L.R.M.C. of heart failure.
Mac was born on December 7, 1923 in Moultrie, Ga. to Thomas & Nancy (Maxwell) McElreath. Mac moved to Medulla 65 years ago from Key West. Mac was a veteran of the U.S. Navy (W.W.II). Mac worked for USS Agri-Chemicals as a mining superintendent and was a member of Medulla Baptist Church.
Mac is survived by his wife of 67 years Vergie McElreath, sons Mike (Becky) McElreath, Bruce (Twanda) McElreath, Mark McElreath, daughter Gwen (Mack) Sweat, grandchildren Michele (Jerry) McFadden, Danny (Michelle) McElreath, Kayla McElreath, Laura (Steven) Hunter, great grandchildren Becca & Matthew McFadden, Nathan & Caden McElreath, Jaiden, Garrett & Kelsey Hunter.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Florida Baptist Children Home, P.O. Box 8190, Lakeland, Fl. 33802. Mac will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Visitation will be Saturday October 13, 2012 from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at Medulla Baptist Church-3930 Old Road 37, Lakeland. Funeral service to follow at 12:00 P.M. Condolences may be sent to the family @
