LAKE WALES - Joanne Armington Hadlock of Austinburg, Ohio died of cancer on July 20th at her home in Lake Wales, Florida.
She was born December 4, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to Harold P. Finney and Anna "Ruth" Finney. Joanne graduated from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio in 1957. She married her late husband George E. Armington, Jr. in 1959. They enjoyed their five children and traveling with the Classic Car Club. George, Jr. died suddenly in 1978. She married Richard Hadlock in 1980.
Joanne was loving, tender and generous. She volunteered in Ohio at Homesafe, a safe house for battered women and at The Manor, a home for disabled men. She served as a volunteer at the Ashtabula Medical Center, a trustee at the Grand River Academy in Austinburg, and on the board of the Ashtabula Arts Center. Joanne attended First Presbyterian Church in Lake Wales.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Richard Hadlock, her sister, Carol Wipper , her sister-in-law, Marge Armington, her children: Deborah (Ralph) Armington-Ranowiecki, Robert "Bob" (Diane) Armington, George (Jeannine) Armington III, Harold (Heather) Armington, Charles (Stephanie) Armington, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister Jean McFarren.
Celebration of Life service for Joanne will be held in Austinburg, Ohio.
