LAKELAND - John Bohannon, 57, passed away on June 4, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with diabetes.
He was born in Lakeland and after 30 years of working in Wyoming, Colorado and Houston in the oil and banking
industry, he returned to his hometown to retire.
John was a disabled veteran, having served in the Marines. He was a
musician and avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing,
hunting and golf. He was a former Boy Scout leader and youth leader with
his church in Houston. He currently attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lakeland.
John was generous to a fault and was always there to help family, friends or anyone in need.
He is survived by his children, Brian, Krista and Sarah Bohannon; sister, Linda King; brother, Jack Bohannon; 5 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews; and 2 great great nephews.
