U.S. Navy Veteran

LAKELAND - John Brackley, 86, of Lakeland, passed away at home Nov. 6, 2012 of natural causes.
Born in Ohio, Mr. Brackley moved to Lakeland in 1970. He worked in management in the lighting industry in Ohio for over 20 years, then after moving to Lakeland, was the owner and developer of mobile home parks until he retired in 1976. He was a member of Lakeland VFW Post, and had served in the US Navy during WWII. He enjoyed making walking canes as his retirement hobby.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean; 2 sons Robb and his wife Judy, of Lakeland, and Larry and wife Cathy of Boise, ID; a brother Paul Brackley, and 2 sisters, Marge Anderson and Betty Miller, all of Ohio; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 9 at 11:00 am at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 5245 US 98 N., Lakeland. Friends are invited to the visitation to be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
