LAKELAND - Larry Ray Wildermuth, Sr., 79, of Lakeland, passed away at home, due to lung cancer, on Sept. 18, surrounded by his family.
Larry was the owner of DLS Inc., a commercial site development company, for many years while living in St. Cloud, FL. After retiring in 1988, he and his wife Harriet moved to North Carolina, then Pennsylvania, and Tennessee, before moving to Lakeland in 2008.
He served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959. He enjoyed painting wood carvings of swans and mallard ducks. He also enjoyed fishing, and especially enjoyed making peanut brittle.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Harriet; two sons Larry Jr. and his wife Rachel, Thomas and wife Angie, a daughter Bonnie Kincaid and her husband Charles; a brother Russell; and a sister Shirley Carroll; three grandchildren, Christina, Robert and Starr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 11:00 am from Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Dr., with burial in Florida National Cemetery on Tuesday at 1:30. Family and friends are invited to the visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00.
