HALL, 65

LAKELAND - Leona S. Hall, age 65, of Lakeland, FL, passed away Feb. 3th, 2013, after a long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Born in Miami, Florida on February 23, 1948, to Angelo and Maggie Spruill, she moved to Lakeland at the age of 4.
In the late 1980s, Leona began working in sales as the manager for the Regency Apartments. After the Regency Apartments were sold, she worked for The Empire ladies' department store and Sterchi Brothers Furniture, where she excelled as one of the top sales associates in the Southeast. In recent years, Leona worked as a personal assistant for many including the late Paul McDonald and his wife Sandy, the late Dr. Ivan Brown and his wife Madeline, the late Dr. William F. Jackson & his wife Barbara, and Dr. Albert Hyde and his late wife Martha. Leona became a well-known and respected assistant and caregiver within the retired physicians' community; she was considered as an extension of the family of the people she cared for.
Leona is survived by her husband of 34 years, George L. Hall; one sister Doris Reed, Palmer, AK; and one brother Charles Spruill, Lakeland; daughters Lisa Paddock, New Smyrna, Florida, Valerie Lynn Boyd, Charlotte, N.C.; stepdaughters Sharon Warren, Ocala, Florida, and Susan Rachwal, Lakeland; grandchildren Devin Paddock, New Smyrna, Florida, Leah Paddock, Tampa, Florida, Nicholas Treco and Joelle Treco, Charlotte, N.C, Jimmy Warren, Jennie Dubose and Jessica DeBose, Ocala, FL, Jason Duncan and Raymond Miller, III, Lakeland; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Angelo Spruill, Miami, FL, mother Maggie Spruill, Augusta, GA, stepfather Henry Bradshaw; sisters Sylvia Urban and Betty Lauderbaugh; brothers Angelo, Jr., Spruill, Raymond Spruill and Herbert Spruill, Lakeland.
The family would like to thank The Good Shepherd Hospice lavender team for all their help and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, Auburndale, Florida. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
