LAKELAND - Niki Sue Keogh, 38 of Lakeland, Florida, passed away Saturday, December 8th, 2012 of melanoma.
She was born on October 1, 1974 in Rumford, Maine. She was a 1993 graduate of Mountain Valley High School where she was a member of the field hockey team and cheerleading squad. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maine, and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of South Florida. She was a National Board Certified Teacher and taught 2nd grade at Gibbons Street Elementary in Bartow. Niki enjoyed exercising, running, scrapbooking and entertaining. She was very outgoing and had a great sense of humor.
She is loved and will be missed by her husband Patrick Keogh of Lakeland, her parents Nick and Sue Brown of Mexico, Maine, her grandparents Leonard and Yvonne Barrieau of Clermont, aunts and uncles, Scott and Jo-Ann Broomhall, Tim and Lisa Barrieau, Nancy Brown, of Rumford, Maine, Sandra Barrieau of South Paris, Maine, Jeff Barrieau of Orlando, in-laws Joan Keogh and John Lynch of Englewood, John Keogh and Lynda George of West Hartford, Connecticut, cousins Heidi and Andrew Broomhall, and Brett, Camron and Kacy Barrieau. She will be missed by her many friends, especially Victor and Barbara Memmoli of Lakeland and Jim and Cindi Moore of Bartow. She was predeceased by her great grandparents Theophile and Alice Lanteigne, and Oliver and Bella Barrieau, and her grandmother Madeline Brown.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 15th from 2-6 pm at her residence.
