PLANT CITY - Norma Kate (Douglas) Thrasher, 91, went home in the loving arms of Jesus on December 5, 2012, due to natural causes. She was blessed to be in her home as her daughters cared for her there for several years and were with her when she left for her heavenly home.
She was born in Dixie County, Alabama in 1921 and was a resident of Florida since 1935, living in Plant City, Blountstown, and for the past 15 years, in Lake Wales.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Willie Harmon Thrasher, father McCary McNeil Douglas, mother Alma Lee (Shields) Douglas, brothers, Tommy Ray and Jerry Mack Douglas and sister Talatha (Kay) Griffin. She is survived by her children: Sandra Parrish and Barbara Hill of Lake Wales, Linda Dixon (Donald) of Plant City, Mack Neil Thrasher of Banks, Alabama, Bill Thrasher of Winter Haven, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was a Primitive Baptist and often said, "The Lord has been good to me." She was loved and will be missed.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 8th at 1:00 pm with funeral services at 2:00 pm at Wells Memorial and Event Center in Plant City with Elder J.C. Stanaland officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Enon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Enon Cemetery Memorial fund at P.O. Box 326, Plant City, FL 33564. Condolences may be offered at .
