LAKELAND- Patrick Andrew Williams, 67, passed away 5/7/14 due to complications from Acute Lymphoblasty Leukemia.
He was born September 8, 1946 in Mt. Hope, West Virginia.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann Scruggs-Williams, his sister, Christine George and her husband Dr. Bob, brother Jim Williams and his wife, Jennie, numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by; his brother Charles Williams, sister Linda Williams, sister Sharon Williams, mother Virginia Williams and father Charles Williams.
Patrick served in the Air Force in Vietnam from July 7, 1966 to July 6, 1970 with honorable discharge with a Vietnam service medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal, AF Good Conduct medal, Small Arms Expert Marksman ribbon.
He graduated from Marietta High School in Marietta, Ohio in 1964, attended Ohio State University for 2 years before joining the Air Force, attended Amhearst, US Air force Univac 10 1050-II Computer Operator Supply Training, American Management Association graduated 1972, National Association Purchase Management, graduated 1974 and Washington County Technical College, graduated 1974 with a degree in purchasing.
He is retired from the City of Lakeland as the Director of Purchasing after working for the city for 20 years.
Pat especially liked fishing for Snook in the Everglades with his friends and had enjoyed playing golf. He most enjoyed time with his wife at home with their two cats.
The family would appreciate that in lieu of flowers, donations be made for cancer research for the cure of Leukemia.
Private memorial service to occur at a future date.
