LAKELAND - Ray Donald Edwards, 89, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, as a result of natural causes.
Mr. Edwards was born June 9, 1925, in Salineville, OH. He and his family moved to Lakeland in 1961. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army
where he served with the 275th armored field artillery battalion in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II
. He was employed by the Glidden Company as a sales representative for 21 years.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Kenderdine. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years Jean Edwards; daughters Sharon Bennett and Janis Caffee; granddaughter Stephanie Leamon; and great granddaughters Halie Rae and Brooke.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Lakeland Memorial Gardens at 2125 South Bartow Highway in Lakeland. Rev. Judy A. Kahler, chaplain with Good Shepherd Hospice will be officiating. Military honors will be conducted by members of the United States Army Honor Guard.
