TALLAHASSEE - Robert "Bob" Longwell Freeman, 82, passed away on March 24, 2013 due to heart complications.
He was born August 8, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to the late William and Margaret Freeman. Bob grad-uated from Universities of Toledo and Michigan and attended Yale University after serving in the United States Army. Bob's lifetime employment as a civil engineer with FL Dept of Transportation began in Bartow and concluded in Tallahassee as the Assistant State Traffic Engineer. Bob was an avid drummer, photographer, fisherman and gardener. He and family resided in Winter Haven and were members of Grace Lutheran Church.
Bob leaves behind his wife, Nina Allen Freeman, Tallahassee, her children, Katherine Good-man, Sarasota, Charles Shupard, Indialantic. Bob also leaves his former wife, Martha Strickland Freeman, Lakeland, and their 3 children, Terence Freeman, Alpharetta, GA, Timothy Freeman, Newington, CT, Robyn Knight, Tallahassee, 7 loving grandchildren and his brother William Freeman, Jr., of Mesa, AZ.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 30 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Tallahassee where he was a longtime member. Donations can be made to one his charities: Big Bend Habitat for Humanity or Lutheran World Relief.
