WINTER HAVEN- Roger Mummah Sr., 67, of Winter Haven, FL, went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2014 due to complications of cancer.
Roger was born on March 20, 1947 in Norfolk, VA. In 1961, his family moved to Boca Raton, FL. In 1966 he met the love of his life Susie Fuller and they were married December 23, 1967 in Pompano Beach, FL.
Along with his wife Susie, he will be dearly missed by his two children: Christine Clayton (Matt) and Roger Mummah Jr. (Mayra); and his three grandchildren: Victoria and Joshua Clayton, and Gracie Mummah; and his brother Jim Mummah Jr. (Janet).
Roger's love of country led him to 28 years of faithful service in the U.S. Navy, from which he retired. His career also included computer software management for several computer companies.
Among Roger's interests and hobbies, were sailing on their sailboat, Endless Summer and work as a Ham Radio enthusiast. He also started a Veteran's Club and a CERT team (Community Emergency Response Team) in his community.
He served in churches as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and bus ministry.
Spending time with his family and friends from Traditions at Lake Ruby made life fulfilling.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church, 2101 Overlook Dr., SE, Winter Haven, FL, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 followed by a reception.
