WINTER HAVEN - Roger Cory, 60, of Winter Haven, died November 1, 2012, at the Florida South Hospital in Orlando, due to an aneurism.
Roger was born, February 8, 1952 in Winona, MN, to Halsey and Betty
He is survived by his father Hal, his step mother Nancy Cory of
Winter Haven, FL, his brother Skip Cory of Huntington, WV and his step daughter Kara Webb of Louisville, KY.
Roger graduated from Seneca High School in Louisville, KY and
attended Polk State College in Winter Haven.
He was a successful health insurance man and had his own agency in Louisville.
He served as president of the Fall City Corvette Club of Louisville and was involved with AA and the Token Club in Louisville. He served
as a counselor for many recovering alcoholics. On many occasions, he
opened the door of his own home to those who were down and out and
needed a place to start a new life. His main hobby was hunting and fishing.
A Memorial service will be held at The Solid Rock Church, 3601 Cypress Gardens Road, on Saturday, December 1st at 2:00 p.m. His burial will be in the Memorial Garden of
St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Louisville.
