WINTER HAVEN - Sally (Koby) Carney, 79, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012, after a lengthy battle with liver cancer.
She was born in Bath, NY, on March 17, 1933, to Timothy and Dorothea (Lander) Koby.
Sally is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Stephen Robert Carney, Sr.; sister Nancy Reddout of Winter Haven; sons Stephen Robert Carney, Jr. of Winter Haven, Brian Carney of Treasure Island, John Carney and wife Jennifer of Roswell, GA, Sean Carney of Rock Hill, SC, Patrick Carney of Orangeburg, SC; grandsons Shannon and Owen Carney.
She was a graduate of Naples Central School Class of 1950 and attended Syracuse University where she was a member of the Alpha Ro Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity.
Sally and her husband moved to Winter Haven, FL, in 1961, where she was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, enjoyed bowling at Cypress Lanes, was a member of the Homemakers Club and a member of the Red Hat Society.
Sally was a caring wife, loving mother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial service to be held on January 19, 2013, at 2:30PM at Hope Presbyterian Church, 2110 Cypress Gardens Boulevard, Winter Haven, FL, 33884. The family will receive visitors in the Cypress Shores Mobile Home Park Club House after the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823, in memory of Sally Carney.
