WINTER HAVEN - Sydney Yvonne Ayoub passed away peacefully of cancer at her home December 31, 2012, at the age of 78.
Yvonne was born in Brownsville, Texas, on April 9,1934, to Reuben Frederick and Vannie Tilden Deyo. She attended Brownsville High Schol where she was a majorette and later went on to attend the University of Texas
. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She moved to Winter Haven in 1971.
Yvonne had a unique and extraordinary talent for baking and decorating cakes. Her cakes were known throughout Florida for their exquisite design, detail and delicious taste. Yvonne developed this amazing talent from her parents who owned Vannie Tilden Bakery for more than 50 years. Yvonne loved working in her yard and creating a beautiful home but most of all, she treasured her 7 children and 7 grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Winter Haven.
She is preceded in death by her son Thomas Walter Ayoub and her daughter Lynn Dee Ayoub. She is survived by sons Syd (Ruth) Ayoub, Wes Ayoub, both of Naples, FL, Reuben Ayoub of Atlanta, GA, and Lee Ayoub of Orlando, FL, daughter Ann (Mark) McCollough of Winter Haven, daughter-in-law Debbie Ayoub of Ft. Myers, FL, grandchildren Brittany Ayoub Horne of Atlanta, Chris McCollough and Megan McCollough of Winter Haven, Joel Ayoub of Orlando, Justin Ayoub of Naples, Sydney Ayoub and Jack Ayoub of Orlando.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2012 at 11AM, Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Cross Episcopal Church at 201 Kipling Lane, Winter Haven, FL, 33884.
