HAINES CITY - T.M. Stephens, 90, of Haines City, FL passed away on October 3, 2012 at his residence of heart failure.
Marcus was born on December 1, 1921 in Tifton, GA and lived in Fort Myers, FL from 1945-1950, then St. Augustine, FL from 1950-1959 and then Kissimmee, FL from 1959-1974, where he owned & operated Stephens Gas and Grocery Service Stations in all 3 cities, and finally moving to Haines City in 1974 and opened up Stephens Salvage Yard. Marcus was a protestant by faith and a WW II US Army veteran who loved to work and spend time with his family.
He is predeceased by his wife, June Kathryn Stephens and son, Gary Stephens. Marcus is survived by his children, Michael "Butch" Stephens of Haines City and his wife Sylvia of Edge Water, FL, Ann (Eric) Ferguson of Hudson, FL, Ronnie Stephens of Haines City; 11 siblings; grandchildren, Bryan, Kara, Richard, Nathan and Christina and 15 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be Monday, 10/8/12 from 10:30 until the funeral at 11:30 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Condolences may be sent via:
