LAKELAND - Mrs. Joan Carole Garde, age 74, died Dec. 22, 2009 due to COPD.
She was born in Tulsa, OK, on March 9, 1935. Carole graduated as an R.N. from St. John's School of Nursing in Tulsa and went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration from Stockton State College. She retired from nursing at Bartow Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Garde is survived by her husband Robert; son Tony; daughters Shannon and Neyna; one brother; three sisters; six grandchildren; one great grandson.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lakeland. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, Lakeland or St. Joseph's Academy.

I worked with Carole at Bartow Memorial Hospital. She was a classy lady with a great sense of humor. We had some really good times. I'm sure she will be missed. My prayers go out to her family.
