LAKELAND - Carl E. Hardy, 59, died May 20, 2011 at Bartow Regional Medical Center due to heart failure.
Mr. Hardy was born November 17, 1951 and moved to Lakeland 20 years ago from North Florida. He was a US Navy veteran serving on the USS Saratoga during the Viet Nam War. He was a loving husband, was good with his hands and enjoyed making things. He loved to fish and hunt, enjoyed life to the fullest and loved spending time with family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and made everyone laugh.
Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife Amarylis Hardy, Lakeland; daughter Jenniffer (Alex) Fagundo, Mulberry; son Douglas, Lakeland; grandchildren Aden Fagundo, Ava Fagundo, Aren Fagundo, Brianna Hooks; brother Carlis Hardy, North Dakota and mother Caroline Hardy, Baker, FL.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 24 at 3 pm at Heath Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.heathfuneralchapel.com

Amarylis, it's hard to find the words to comfort you, Carl was such a wonderful caring man, he was always there as my friend. He could always make me laugh when I was down and lend a helping hand to friends or family in need. He is loved and will be missed but never forgotten.

I guess it is true that one person can make a lasting impression after just a few minutes of meeting them. I only met Carl one time, but his love for you and life showed beyond expectations. May God bless you and know you are in my prayers.
