LAKELAND - Betty R. Prosser, 95, of Lakeland, died June 1, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center of natural causes.
She was born in Warren, Arkansas on April 17, 1916 and moved to Lakeland in 1947 from Mississippi. Betty was a retired medical receptionist at Watson Clinic. She was owner of Prosser's 5 and 10 store in Dixieland during the early 1950's. Betty was a member of the United Methodist Temple and the United Methodist Women.
Preceded in death by her husband, John F. Prosser; survived by son, John C. Prosser of Jupiter, FL; daughter Pamela Prosser of Lakeland; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Temple Foundation, 2700 South Florida Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33803-3863 or to the Talbot House 814 North Kentucky Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801-1706. Condolences may be sent to the family at

Pam, I don't know if you will remember me or not, but I was at Dixieland Elem. School with you, and probably middle and high school. I am sorry about your mom. My dad is exactly her age and is living at Azalea Park on Hardin. He has gone downhill a lot in these past months. He will be 96 in Sept. My best to you and your brother. Ann (Dawson)White
