LAKELAND - Bruce H. Weaver, 85, passed away quietly at home on April 20, 2011 from lymphoma.
Married for 60 years to Wilma Weaver, Bruce was an avid fisherman, hunter and friend to many. Retired from DeSears with almost 30 years of appliance repair service, Bruce will be remembered for fishing, fixing things and his quick humor. He was born in Jackson, TN, one of ten children. Growing up in the depression years, he learned to fish for survival and thus began his life-long love of fishing. Bruce enlisted in the Navy on his 17th birthday and served in WWII.
He is survived and greatly missed by his wife, Wilma, four children, Bruce Weaver, Jr., Greensboro, NC, George Weaver, Nacogdoches, TX, Grace Weaver Winkler, Parrish, FL, James Weaver, Timpson, TX, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on June 18, 2:00 pm, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1435 N. Gilmore Avenue, Lakeland.
