LAKELAND - Carrol Bernard, 80, was born on May 14, 1931 in Yukon, Oklahoma and passed away on May 14, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to complications of pulmonary embolism. He is a resident of the Highland Fairways Golf Club of Lakeland.
Mr. Bernard was a graduate of Oklahoma City University and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Carrol worked as a manager for Travelers Insurance in Oklahoma City and Minneapolis.
Mr. Bernard is survived by his wife Shirley, sons, Rex Bernard (Susan) and Donald Bernard (Kelly), a daughter, Leigh Tennant, son, Gordon Campbell (Jerri), eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Donations may be made to Highland Fairways Golf Club. Services will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at

so saddened to hear about Carrol. If you look up gentleman, there would be a picture and description of Carrol there! He was a pleasure to work with. We share in your sorrow
