WINTER HAVEN - Christa Rose Barber went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 17, 2013 at the age of 20 after an almost year-long battle with bile duct cancer.
Christa's life was a beautiful testimony of her faith in Jesus Christ. Through the most extreme trials of the disease she never complained or asked "why me?". Her steadfast faith that God is Sovereign, Good, and Loving, helped her persevere and has impacted many lives. She was so grateful for everyone's prayers.
Christa was born May 4, 1993 in Winter Haven, Fl and lived there all of her life. Christa was active in 4-H and served in many leadership roles including club president and participated in Youth Fair. She dual enrolled at Polk State College when she was 16 where she was Phi Theta Kappa. Christa led a Bright Lights Discipleship group, enjoyed politics and served as an Congressional intern for Adam Putnam. She grad-uated from High School in 2011. Christa was a gifted writer and was working on several historical fiction novels. She enjoyed art and had a strong interest in theatre. She performed in plays at Theatre Winter Haven and Polk State College. Christa loved to dance, sing, laugh, study the Bible, encourage people, and tell them about Jesus. Christa was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She also sang in the choir. Christa was a Junior at Southeastern University where she was a Communications major. She lived and finished her life well.
Christa is treasured by her devoted parents, Philip and Sherry Barber, her brother David and Bonnie Barber, her Uncle Paul and Jane Barber, Aunt Kathy and Ken Raue, Aunt Debbi Angel, Uncle Mark and Tammy Barber, Uncle Michael and Jenn Blackman, her ten cousins and a nephew.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm followed by the funeral celebration service at 7:00pm on Tues. September 24, at Faith Baptist Church, 2140 Crystal Beach Rd Winter Haven, FL. Internment will be on Wed. September 25, at 11:00 am at Rolling Hills Cemetery, Winter Haven, Fl.
