LAKELAND - Mr. Clifton Rolfe, 77, died July 20, 2012 at his home due to heart failure. He was born February 25, 1935 in Elyria, Ohio and later served in the U. S. Army. Mr. Rolfe taught school for a few years before becoming a sporting goods reconditioner. After moving to Lakeland from Leesburg in 1977 he attended the Family Worship Center and was a member of Florida Flywheelers Antique Engine Club, he also built the patented Rolfe Rider Wagons as well as being licensed to produce wagons carrying the official University of Florida logo.
Mr. Rolfe is survived by his wife, of 55 years, Rhea Rolfe of Lakeland; son, Peet Rolfe (Tammy) of Mulberry; daughter, Sarena Jensen (Palle) of Lakeland; brothers, Harold Rolfe of Wellington, Ohio, Bill Rolfe of LaGrange, Ohio and Art Rolfe of Branson, Missouri. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his sister-in-law, Sarajean Carlyle of Lakeland.
Visitation will be held Wednesday 10 to 11 AM in the chapel of Lakeland Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 11:30 AM at the grave side in Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
