JACKSONVILLE - Dana Edward Yelinek, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2012. Dana died from a brain aneurysm. Dana was born on September 4, 1952 in Jacksonville, FL to the late William and Ollie-Lee Yelinek.
Dana graduated from Seminole High School, Sanford, FL in 1970 and from the University of North Florida in 1994 with a BS degree in Computer Information Sciences. After a 3 year stint in the Army and continuing his college education, Dana began his working career in the construction field as a draftsman. In 1993, he shifted focus to the field of computer information sciences and was currently employed with Bi Lo Winn Dixie as a project manager in the IT Project Management Office.
Dana was passionate about many things; his love for God and his family being the most important. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and Grandpa (Hetaw). He is greatly missed by his family and friends. We take comfort in knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior. Dana's greatest desire is that all who he knows and loves would come to know the Lord and join him in Heaven one day.
Dana was an organ donor and through his last unselfish act, 3 people will be given the gift of life. Whoever gets his heart will have some big shoes to fill.
Dana is survived by his wife of 28 years, Carol, two sons, Jason Thomas (Jennifer) of Lakeland, FL and Brian Yelinek (Amanda) of Jacksonville. He is also survived by his brother John Yelinek (Sue) of Bradenton and sister Vicky-Lee Layden of Venice. Dana leaves behind his four precious grandchildren Alexis, Landon, Braylynn and Londyn and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
