FORT MYERS - Doris King, 82, passed away June 23, 2013 at home in Fort Myers, FL due to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis.
She was born in Red Level, Al. on November 4, 1930 and raised in Dundee, Fl. When Doris lived in Winter Haven she was employed at Griner's Jewelers and Freeman Jewelers and while living in Ft. Myers she was employed at Burdines and Mr. Donut where she was a favorite of the local residents. Doris loved her family and friends unconditionally and she always put them first.
She was a devoted and loving mother to her children: Rhonda Quinn-Moye (Donie), Germaine King, Marla Cullember (Denny) & Stan King (Virginia). A devoted and loving Mema to her 8 grandchildren: Paul Fiduccia, Brittani Newton (John), Dale Dobbins (predeceased), Keith Dobbins (predeceased), Shanna Jo Harvey (predeceased), Amanda Taunton (Michael), Joseph King, Jason King, Jacklyn Garlock (Billy) and her 12 great-grandchildren: Dalton, Shyann, Skylar, Devon, Dillon, Dustin, Derek, Alysa, Alexis, Michael, Ryan and Sara. She is also survived by her brother Jamie Martin. She is predeceased by her parents Robert "Chat" & Nonie Martin, sisters Mildred Carlisle & Barbara Steakley, brother Gerald Martin and husbands James Quinn and Joe King.
Graveside services will be held on August 17, 12:00 p.m. at Lakeside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or the
in her name. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at the home of her daughter Rhonda Quinn-Moye immediately following the services.
