LAKELAND - Doyle Armstead Allred was called to his seat at the Lord's Table Friday February 14, 2014 after a 17 year battle with cancer. He was 81.
Doyle was born a son of Armstead and Velma (Norton) Allred January 16, 1933 in Haines City, Florida. He graduated from Kathleen Senior High School in 1951 and served in the US Navy, Atlantic, Fleet aboard the USS Intrepid from 1953 to 1956.
Doyle was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd and Roy; and daughter, Pamela Watts. He is survived by his wife, Betty A. Allred; children, Doyle Alton, Nancy, and William Allred; step-daughters, Jane Warren and Jean E. Brown; brother, Ray Allred; sisters, Naomi Bagley, Ivalee Fulton, and Ann Reese; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friend 3 pm Wednesday (2-19-2014) at Lanier Funeral Home. The funeral will be immediately following the visitation at 4 pm.
