V. SUMNER DORMAN, 81
HEFLIN, AL - Ms. Florence V. Sumner Dorman, age 81, of Heflin, AL, died Monday, May 9, 2011.
Ms. Dorman was born September 25, 1929 in Sycamore, GA the daughter of the late Mitchell and Martha Malisha Lipham Sumner. She was retired from both Lakeland Convalescent Center and George Jenkins High School. She was an active member of the Villa Rica Free Holiness Church. Most important to Florence was her relationship with Jesus Christ and she never hesitated to share His Good News with others. Her vibrant smile will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her son, Larry Dorman (Iris) of Lakeland, FL; son, Kenneth Dorman (Cindy) of Lakeland, FL; daughter, Shelia Dorman Pickern of Plant City, FL; sister, Francis Sumner Lipham of Heflin, AL; brother, Gene Sumner of Lakeland, FL. a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
Ms. Dorman was preceded in death by her parents, as well as, her husband Leroy Dorman; daughter, Jessie Faye Dorman; sister, Martha Harrison, brothers, Grady and Albert Sumner; and grandson, Wayne Dorman.
Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 1 o'clock from Villa Rica Free Holiness Church with Rev. Bobby House officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 11am until 1pm.
Following the service in Villa Rica, Ms. Dorman will be transported to Lakeland, FL for a visitation at Lanier Funeral Home on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 1 until 3 with a Funeral Service to be conducted at 3 o'clock from the Chapel of Lanier Funeral Home.
Interment will follow the service in Griffin Cemetery.
