Garfield Richardson Obituary
Citrus Contractor & Painter
WINTER HAVEN - Mr. Garfield "L.B." Richardson, Sr., age 90, died of heart failure Saturday (May 16, 2009).
Born in Monticello, FL., on Dec. 7, 1918, he came to Winter Haven from there 71 years ago. He was a retired citrus contractor and painter. He was a member of First M.B. Church.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife Florene Richardson, Winter Haven; daughters Betty Smothers, Winter Haven, Earnestine Davis, Bartow, Shirley Long, Nashville, TN; sons Garfield Richardson, Jr., Lawrenceville, Ga., Charles Ray, Detroit, MI., John Richardson, Columbia, S.C., James Clyde Richardson, Vancouver, WA., Carl Watts, Detroit, MI., A.J. Nance, Cordele, GA; sisters Eather Lee Richardson, Ethel Mae Rogers, both of Winter Haven; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at First M.B. Church, 200 Ave. R N.W., Winter Haven. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sat. at the church.

To Tine & Betty Ann & Family: Our family is in prayer with you all during your time of bereavement. It is our prayer that as the days and weeks pass, and as you & your family return to life's routine, may you all continue to feel comforted by the love & support of your family & friends. Everyone can reminisce from back in the good ole days when Mr. "L.B." was a faithful choir member & boy could he march. "Be rest assured that Mr. "L.B." has gone to a better place, HEAVEN", where he is marching up the King's Highway, and Rosa Lee & other loved ones are anxiously waiting his arrival. Granddaddy, you will always be missed. I thank GOD for the 90 years that he let you be here with us and for allowing me to be by your side upon your depart. You have always been the one who understood, MAMA and I say, THANK YOU!! REST, SWEETHEART AND I'LL SEE YOU AGAIN ONEDAY!!
