THOMASVILLE, GA. - Services for Gerald Bibby, 82, of Thomasville, Grady County, GA, will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013, in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lakeland, FL, with Military Honors. Rev. Kenneth Coonley will officiate. Mr. Bibby passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Grady General Hospital, Cairo, GA, from a heart attack due to a stroke.
Mr. Bibby was born on September 16, 1930, in Lakeland, FL, to the late William and Ester May Counsel Bibby. Gerald was married to Esther Louise Bibby, who preceded him in death on May 16, 2004. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a diesel mechanic with the Publix Corporation.
Survivors include: sons, Chris Bibby (Leah) of Bainbridge, GA, Rick (Hope) Bibby of Lakeland, FL, Jimmy Robinson of Lakeland, FL, Jim (Becky) Bibby of Lakeland, FL; daughters, Lisa Dawson (Raymond) of Cairo, GA, Jerry Sue Kondolf (Carl) of Lakeland, FL, Paula Williams (Chris) of Lakeland, FL, Tracy Kahn (Robert) of West Palm Beach, FL, Cindy Clairdy of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Anna Beth Bibby of Bainbridge, GA, Abigail Bibby of Bainbridge, GA, Jason, Justin, and Michael Dawson, all of Lakeland, FL, Mark Robinson of Zephyrhills, FL, Matt Robinson of Cairo, GA, Josh Alexander of Lakeland, FL, Jenny Smith and Stephen Smith of Lakeland, FL; 18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister, Norma Snow of Orlando, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buddy and Cathryn Mixon, Richard and Dorothy Palmer, and Peggy Coonley, all of Lakeland, FL, Donald and Pam Coonley of Atlanta, GA, Kenny and Sonja Coonley of Greenville, TN.
He was preceded in death by: his wife; parents; daughter, Janet Forest; brothers, Billy and Charlie Bibby.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home the hour prior to the service.
