Bill was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and participated in numerous extracurricular activities.
While attending College he made many acquaintances whom would remain lifelong friends. Undoubtedly, the most significant was the woman he would marry in 1951 and remain devoted to for just over 60 years, Lois Marguerite Futch.

He and his wife shared a myriad of interests including The Lakeland Symphony, Alumni events at Florida Southern College, summer vacations at Ponce Inlet, the Carolina Mountains and weekends at the Lakeland Yacht Club. Bill was a kind, compassionate and patient man. His ability to see the positive in all circumstances and individuals endeared him a life full of vibrancy, happiness, and content. God set the stars to give light to the world; one of those stars was Bill.
