WINTER HAVEN - Jack Kuder, 83, passed away 5/17/11 of congestive heart failure.
Born 2 April, 1928 in Long Beach, California, the son of John M. and M. Elaine Kuder, he moved to Winter Haven, Florida at an early age. He graduated from the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida and from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan and served in the Army of Occupation in Japan during World War II. He was a Past President of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity at Michigan State University.
He was a citrus grower and cattle rancher, and he resided in Winter Haven, Florida for many years. He was President of Kuder Citrus Feed Company, Kuder Pulp Sales, Kuder Egg Farm, Brookhaven Realty, Inc., Chipco Corporation and a developer of Brookhaven Villages, Inc. He was a Past President of The Florida Club, a Past Commodore of Lake Region Yacht and Country Club and served for many years as a Director of local banks from the McNulty Banks through Center State Bank of Florida. He was also a Past Director of the Winter Haven Hospital Board of Directors and Past 1st Vice President of the Winter Haven Hospital Development Foundation. He has been a resident of The Villages, FL for the last 9 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary N. Kuder, his son, John D. Kuder, his daughter-in-law, Constance M. Kuder, two grandsons, Joshua D. Kuder and Matthew M. Kuder, his brother-in-law, Richard L. Simonds and a number of nieces and nephews.
Inurnment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Winter Haven, Florida on June 13 at 4:00 PM. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the following: Villagers For Hospice, 1114 Barcelona Drive, The Villages, FL 32159-9121
