LAKELAND - James "Jim" Wilbur Clark, 83 years of age, of Lakeland, Florida, relinquished life on March 2, 2013. He was born in Lakeland, Florida on December 15, 1929 to Carl and Olive Clark of Lakeland.
Jim graduated from Summerlin Institute (Bartow High School) in June 1947. He studied agricultural engineering at the University of Florida and later chemical engineering. He had a long career with International Minerals and Chemicals and CF Industries. Jim was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church of Lakeland. He had a deep devotion to his family and a great love of farming and nature.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Olive Clark, his brothers Bert and Oliver Clark, and his first wife Katherine Stott Clark, the mother of his children. Jim was survived by his wife June Olsen Clark, his children Carla (Roy) Johannesen, Nellie (Vernon) Childress, Owen (Jan) Clark and Fritz (Cheryl) Clark. Jim was also survived by his nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, his brother Arthur Clark of Middleburg, and sister Anna Dell Thompson of Valrico.
Funeral arrangements will be held 11:00am, Thursday March 7,2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, 745 S. Ingram Avenue, Lakeland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, 745 S. Ingram Avenue, Lakeland, Florida 33801 or Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, Florida 33823.
