LAKELAND - John D. Potts, 63, died Monday, October 1, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center of heart failure.
John was born in Massillon, Ohio and moved to Florida in the mid 1950s. He graduated from Seminole High School and the University of Florida. He majored in Business Administration. He was a retired Internal
Auditor for the Polk Co. School Board. He also worked in the retail and
banking business. He had a passion for sports including the Massillon Tigers, Cleveland Browns and UF Gators. Go Gators!
Survivors include his mother, Emma Mobley of Lakeland; brothers Larry
Potts (Lee) and Lewis Potts, both of Seminole, George Mobley of Lakeland; sister Rosanne Coffman (Greg) of Tarpon Springs, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be Friday, October 5th, 6 PM - 8 PM and the service will
be Saturday, October 6th, 11 AM at Gentry Morrison Dukes-Steen Beacon
