AUBURNDALE - John Katopodes, 92, of Auburndale, FL, passed away on December 8, 2013 at his residence of natural causes.
He was born on November 22, 1921 in Newark, NJ and moved to Auburndale in 1977. John was retired from the New York Police Department and was a US Marine Corps veteran of WW II where he participated in the battle at Okinawa. His hobbies included his love of fishing, playing cards and baseball.
He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Georgette Katopodes; sons, James and Peter Katopodes; and granddaughter Ciara Katopodes.
His final resting place will be at FL National Cemetery. Condolences may be made to
