LAKELAND - Karen Dawn Kinports, 69, of Lakeland, died May 21, 2012 due to respiratory failure.
Karen was born June 3, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI, to Edward and Lucille (Reuss) Stampfel and moved to Lakeland in 2003, coming from Hollywood, FL. Karen is a retired LPN with Polk County Health Services and also worked with Vista Hospice in Broward County. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, enjoyed traveling and was especially known for her gourmet cooking. Karen was united in marriage in 1979 to her husband, Robert, who resides in Lakeland.
She is also survived by her sons, Scott M. (Lisa) Wudtke of Lakeland and Mark E. (Kim) Wudtke of Lake Placid and her two granddaughters, Jaclyn and Jessica Wudtke.
A gathering celebrating Karen's life will be held this Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Lakeside Hills Estates Clubhouse. Lakeland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
