I have so many wonderful memories of our families getting together for weekends and holidays. Such a great time we all had spending time at each other's cottages. Larry was always a great Dad to his kids and a fun uncle who always made us feel welcome. Even later in 2004 when I visited FL with my family we had a great time and felt welcome. So very sorry for your loss....

I work with Sgt Smith as a Rookie Officer when I came on the Manchester Police Department Feb 1976. He was a mentor and a friend. I still pass the Smith house on Porter St. And remember jogging by their house every day. He was a great guy and was missed when he left and will be missed more now. Al Anderson (Ret.)

Dear Smith Family,
I worked with Sgt. in the early 70's when coming onto the PD. He was always there for us when we needed him. He was a good Sgt and someone I truly enjoyed calling a friend.

I remember how he built rabbit houses, a playhouse and a car for my sister and I. We went to Universal Studios and rode the rides together. These are memories that will never go away. He was a great grandpa. I will miss him.

Dear Bobbi and family'

So hard to believe he is gone! Please accept our deepest sympathy. We are still trying to "digest" it all. To lose a sister and brother only nine days apart! God knows and will give comfort, but it still hurts. At least they are now "home" and out of pain. God's blessings and peace to you all.

Floyd, Gloria and family.

Brad, Laura, Holly, Larry, and Danny,
It's been many years since any of you have visited your dad's family in Maine. I remember all of you when we were all small children and wish we had known each other better. Please know that I am extending, on behalf of myself and your dad's brother and sister and other family in Maine, my sincere heartfelt sympathy at the loss of your father. It really hurts to lose a parent either through death or other circumstances. Please know that my thoughts are with you all.

I consider myself blessed to have had the privilege of knowing such a fine person as Larry Smith. He was truly devoted husband , A great Dad, an outstanding Grand Pa and a Great Grand Pa to my 2 kids. He served his country in the Navy spending time on a destroyer during wartime and also serving his state as one of the rarer law enforcement officer who didn't like to give out tickets. I am so greatful for everything he has done and accomplished . May God bless this family and help them through this sad time, My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
God Bless ! ! ! !

My Grandpa is loved and will be missed by many. He was a devoted husband to my Grandma for over 57 years, a dedicated father to his 5 children, and a loving Grandpa/Great Grandpa to 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was a very talented man and built us grandkids a playhouse and a cottage for his wife and kids.
Grandpa served his country in the Navy in WW2 and also as a Law Enforcement Officer for many years. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family & friends. I love you Grandpa and thank God for you. Until we meet again...Shannon Freeman & Family
