WINTER HAVEN - Mrs. Lila Rea Crews, 81, passed away Tues., May 17, 2011 at Winter Haven Hospital due to heart failure.
Mrs. Crews was born on July 12, 1929 in Fort Meade, where she was a longtime resident, before moving to Winter Haven, FL several years ago. She was a retired loan officer for SunTrust Bank, and spent many years working in the Fort Meade branch. Mrs. Crews was a member of the First Church of God, Winter Haven, FL where she served as church treasurer. She was a former member of Fort Meade First Church of God where she and her husband served as youth leaders and Sunday School teachers for many years. Mrs. Crews was also a graduate of Fort Meade High School, class of 1947.
Mrs. Crews was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Hancock. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Earl Crews, Winter Haven, FL; son, Ron Crews and wife Maureen, Mulberry, FL; daughter, Penny Crews Albritton and husband Chuck, Deluth, GA; grandchildren, Ashlie A. Zusi and husband Russ, Kristin Albritton Rosado; great-grandchildren, Andrew Zusi and Davis Zusi; nephews, Wally Hancock and wife Nancy, Chip Tompkins and wife Karol; niece, Cennetta Reynolds and husband Bill.
Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thurs., May 19, 2011 at Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Fri., May 20, 2011 at the Hancock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade. Earl and family,
We are so saddened to learn of Lila Rea's passing. Although it's been many years since we've seen you guys we still have memories of those wonderful days in our church family in Ft.Meade back in the 50's and 60's. God Bless you and keep you strong in the coming days and years. You will have many wonderful memories of your life with Lila Rae. She was a precious woman, mother, wife and friend of the church.
