LAKE WALES - Mrs. Maisy Kyoko Ota, of Lake Wales, Florida, passed away of natural causes on
Sunday, July 21, 2013, just three days short of her 102nd birthday.
She was born on July 24, 1911 in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Lake Wales in 2005 from Columbia, Maryland. She was retired from the U.S. Post Office and was a former Red Cross Volunteer. After retirement she learned the guitar and ukulele and played in a local senior's band named "The Golden Aires."
Maisy is survived by her son, Lake Ashton resident Frank Ota, a granddaughter Helena, a nephew Ken Ota, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013, at 12:30 P.M. at the Lake Ashton Club with Mr. Bob Ference officiating. She would be pleased if you would attend the reception following. Interment will be held in Hilo, Hawaii. Johnson Funeral Home, Lake Wales.
