LAKELAND - Melba Green Pendleton, age 96, of Lakeland, FL passed away on May 18, 2011 from natural causes.
Melba was born on December 1, 1914 in Lasalle, IN. She was raised and educated in Peoria, IL and moved to Goodland, IN in 1950, where she lived for 28 years. In 1978, Melba and her husband, Raymond Pendleton moved to Lakeland, FL. She was a homemaker and a member of United Methodist Temple.
Melba is preceded in death by husband, Raymond and grandson Eimo Norder II.
Melba is survived by daughters Sharron Mort-ensen of Streamwood, IL, Shirley Pendleton of Lakeland, FL, Susie Koontz of Brandon, FL, five grandchildren: Jackie Habeil, Jeff Pendleton, Adele Raye Newman, Carl Mortensen, Glen Mortensen, four great grandchildren: Adam Habeil, Ashton Habeil, Kassiopeia Lawrence, and Cody Mortensen.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate the life of Melba Pendleton at United Methodist Temple of Lakeland, FL at 2:30 Saturday, June 4th. She had an amazing life, filled with God, Family, friends and adventure. This service will be a time to celebrate her life as well as her passage into God's Kingdom.
