Norman Lane Obituary
LANE, 70
MAITLAND - Norman Edward Lane, age 70, of Maitland, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011 of heart failure.
Born on October 18, 1940 in Lakeland, FL, he was a lifelong resident of Central Florida and retired as a Commander in the Navy. Mr. Lane obtained a Bachelors and a Masters degree from the University of Florida and a PHD from Ohio State University. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Maitland.
Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Cora R. Lane.
Mr. Lane is survived by his sons, David (Ana) Lane of Lake Mary and Michael Lane of Orlando; and sister, Sydney Cardner of Lakeland.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 2:00PM at First Presbyterian Church Of Maitland 341 North Orlando Avenue Maitland, FL 32751. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lustgarten Foundation 1111 Stewart Avenue Bethpage, NY 11714 or Haiti Child Sponsorship 400 Peachtree Ind Blvd Suite 5-285 Suwanee, GA 30024. Reading the notice in the paper has deeply saddened my wife and I. Both of us have considered Norman with the highest regard and friendship. My wife and I consider knowing him as one of the most fortunate experiences in our lives. Norman's passing had left and emptiness that will be very hard to fill. Sadly, our medical practice has lost someone we enjoyed having as a patient for the last 13 years.

Norm was a good man, a brilliant person. My heart goes out to his sons who lost their mother, Cora, just over 3 weeks before. Norm and Cora were rightfully so proud of their boys. Overwhelming would be a good choice of words right now.
