LAKELAND - Roger W. Borton, 88, went home to be with the Lord Friday, July 19, 2013 as a result of complications from dementia.
Roger was born near Alliance, Ohio July 8, 1925, and married Donna Hoover of Columbus, Ohio on February, 18,1950 in Houston, Texas.
He worked for the Coca-Cola company in Columbus, Ohio from 1952 to 1966, then in Oshkosh, Wisconsin until 1971, then while in Flint, Michigan changed to the 7-up company. After moving to Lakeland, FL in 1987 he worked in the tool department at Sears and as a Publix bag-boy first on Griffin Rd., and recently on US Hwy 98 N.
He was a member of Nazarene churches since accepting Jesus as Savior in 1974; Flint Central, Lake Gibson and Highland Park churches of the Nazarene.
Roger is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donna, his daughter Linda Borton of Lakeland, son James of Ft Attkinson, WI and sister Phoebe Chepke of Salem, OH.
A memorial service is being planned at 6:00PM August 6, 2013 at Highland Park Church.
