LAKELAND - Ruth Eleanor Ash Benfield Duvall, 94, died May 28, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to heart failure.
Mrs. Duvall was born September 7, 1916 in St. Paul, Indiana and moved to Eaton Park from Tioga, PA in 1987 where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Womens' Auxiliary for 64 years, the V.F.W. Womens' Auxiliary, Military Order of Cooties, Womens' Auxiliary and served two terms as state president of the Military Order of Purple Heart, Womens' Auxiliary.
Mrs. Duvall was preceded in death by a son, Don Duvall. She is survived by her husband Calvin (Kip) Duvall of Eaton Park, sons Allen Benfield of Shelbyville, IN, Darell Benfield of San Diego, CA, Norman Benfield of Covington, GA, Russell Benfield Jr. of Eaton Park, FL, Denny Duvall of Tyrone, OK, Calvin Duvall of Dixonville, PA, daughters Loraine Walker of Nelson, PA, Ella Kay Belis of Sayre, PA and Vinney Ruth Snyder of Sayre, PA. Mrs. Duvall is also survived by sisters Lorene Hardesty of Selbyville, IN, Mary Gillis of Seattle, WA and Janet Green of Shelbyville, IN, 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1 PM until 3 PM with funeral services to follow at 3 PM in the chapel of Lakeland Funeral Home.
