BABSON PARK - Sarah Isabel Cody, 90, passed away quietly at her home in Cody Villa, Babson Park, on Friday, August 26, 2010 of natural causes.
She was a granddaughter of Crooked Lake pioneers Lindus and Amelia Cody and daughter of Arthur and Marie Cody. She was a 1937 graduate of Lake Wales High School. She received degrees from Florida State College for Women, Emory University and a Masters of Library Science from Case Western Reserve. She was the director of the Cleveland Heights, Ohio, library system and president of the Ohio Library Association. She retired to Cody Villa in 1978 returning to her childhood home.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Elizabeth Moore, Martha Jane Cody, Dorothy Skene and brother Phillip Cody. She is survived by her sister Margaret Cody Thompson of Gainesville, Fl., nephew and niece George Skene and Margaret Monahan, locally, and many loving and grateful nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial will be held at her home at 11 am on Monday, September 6. Central Florida Casket Store and Funeral Chapel.
