LAKELAND - Mr. Walter H. Anthony, 92, died on January 19, 2013 at Valencia Hills Nursing Home, of natural causes.
He was born August 9, 1920 in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Anthony was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a 50 year volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, 20 year volunteer with Polk County Schools, and a 10 year volunteer with Good Shepherd Hospice. He retired in 1980 from C & O Railroad after 44 years of service.
Predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Olive K. Anthony. Survivors include son, Carl (Bud) Anthony and his wife, Sharon, daughter, Carol Ann Green and husband John, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, Fl. 33823 or to Cornerstone Hospice, 901 Johns Avenue, Haines City, Florida 33844.
The family will receive friends on Thursday January 24, 2013 from 5-7 pm at Heath Funeral Chapel and Graveside services will be held on Friday January 25,2013 at 11:00 am at Oak Hill Burial Park.
